Q: Please describe your feeling about your first time in Thailand and what you want to say to your Thai fans
A: Actually I’ve been to Thailand for like 10 times but this is the firt time I officially visit Thailand. I’m so excited because there are media from Korea and Thailand too. I really like Thai food, like Tom-Yum-Kung (Thai shrimp spicy soup) and Pad-Thai (Thai style fried noodle), which is hard to find in Korea.
It’s an honor to be TAT ambassador. I will tell my friends to come here when I’m back to Korea.
Q: As a TAT ambassador for Songkran Festival, what do you know about Songkran?
A: I used to attend Songkran festival 3 or 4 years ago. Someone splashed water at me and powdered me. I felt strange at first but i had a lot of fun. It was a good memory.
Q: Do you have any surprise for your fans in Songkran Festival?
A: I’ve just arrived so I don’t know what I have to do but I’d like to attend Songkran Festival together with my fans.
Q: There will be an event at Sanam Luang on April 13th. As a singer, will you have any performance there?
A: Now acting is my main job rather than singing and I’ve just released a Japanese album. I’ve heard that 궁 (Princess Hour) is famous in Thailand, including its soundtracks. I don’t sing any song in 궁 but I will sing it if my fans want me to sing.
Q: When will you release a new album?
A: The drama shooting is not finished yet so I can’t tell when I will release a new album. 궁 is very popular not only in Thailand, but all over Asia so I also would like to release an album in Thailand too.
Q: What is your favorite place in Thailand? If you come here with your friends, where do you want to take them to?
A: I have a good memory in Pattaya. Many Koreans want to know what impressed me in Thailand and I must say Pattaya. Anyway, the place I really want to visit but still have never been to is Chiang Mai because I don’t have enough time to go there.
Q: Before coming to Thailand, have you ever known that you are famous here and how do you feel to know this?
A: I’m very surprised when I arrived at the airport because I’ve never thought that there would be many people waiting to see me. It was a good welcome. Many fans like me because they watched me in 궁. In this drama, I don’t talk much and seem to be a very good guy (laugh) but
they don’t see the real me so I don’t know if they will like me or not. (laugh)
Q: Can you speak Thai?
A: Neung (one) Song (two) Saam (three) See (four) Ha (five) Hok (six) Jed (seven) Pad (eight) Kao (nine) Sib (ten) (laugh) Actually there is a senior I know who lives here. When I visited Thailand, I stayed with him. He took me to many places and taught me many Thai words, like Ting-Tong (crazy),
Mai Kao Jai (I don’t understand), A Rai Na (What?). Oh! and he also taught me to say Pom Ruk Khun (I love you).
Q: Can you sing a song for us?
A: (Singing ‘Sad Song’)
Q: Can you tell me about your new drama series?
A: It’s quite popular in Korea. I am a bad guy in this series. I am so bad that my friends asked me how could you be so bad like that. But I want to show my fans that I can act in various roles and I want to improve my acting skill too.
Q: What is your next plan after this drama series?
A: I’m lucky to be one of the actors in 궁 because it made me very famous, not only in Korea but across Asia. I will continue my acting career. About my singing career, I have only Japanese album now but I want to release an album in other countries, like China too.
Q: How’s Thai women?
A: I like them (smile)
Q: If you were dentist, who would be your first patient?
A: My dad. My dad has just had an operation. As a son, I’d like to treat my parents first because I know the pain. I know what it’s like.
Q: What do you think about Thai women?
A: Sexy. Thai people don’t talk much but they are so kind. I think Thai women are very beautiful.
Q: What is your type about a girl?
A: I used to look at a girl only from her appearance but I’m 27 now so I think that I need a girl who has a good feeling for me and can take care of me. But generally every man likes pretty girl.
Q: Which one do you like: sea, mountain, waterfall?
A: Mountain. When I was a kid, I often went hiking with my family. But I like the sea in Thailand because it is very beautiful.
I like mountain in Korea and I like sea in Thailand.
Q: Will you take your parents to visit Thailand?
A: Of course. I’d like to take them here with me but I still have a drama shooting so I can’t take them with me this time. I will take them here next time I visit Thailand.
Q: Please say something to invite your fans to attend Songkran Festival.
A: A Rai Na (What?) (laugh) This time there’s only my staff crew coming here with me but next time I will take my parents and my friends to Thailand with me.
Q: Beside Songkran Festival, do you know any other festivals in Thailand?
A: It’s a shame that I know only Songkran Festival but I’ll try to learn more about Thailand.
